Aldosterone Synthesis by Adrenal Mitochondria II. THE EFFECT OF CITRIC ACID CYCLE IiSTERMEDIATES; IDENTIFICATION OF THE SOLUBLE STIMULATORY FACTOR AS FUMARASE

چکیده

The formation of aldosterone from corticosterone by the mitochondrial fraction of adrenal homogenates requires the presence of a citric acid cycle intermediate. The most effective intermediate is malate. The stimulation by the soluble fraction of mitochondrial aldosterone formation in the presence of fumarate, reported previously, is the result of conversion of the fumarate to malate by fumarase present in the soluble fraction.

The effect of fuel type on the synthesis of LiMn1.5Ni0.5O4 powders by solution combustion route

In this research LiMn1.5Ni0.5O4 nano powders that are used as cathode material for lithium-ion batteries were prepared by solution combustion synthesis route. Cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB), mixture of “CTAB and glycine” and also mixture of “CTAB and citric acid” were used as fuel using fuel to oxidant ratio of 0.5. The effect of fuel type on microstructure and electrochemical properti...

The Effect of Oxalic Acid, the Pathogenicity Factor of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum on the Two Susceptible and Moderately Resistant Lines of Sunfl ower

Background: One of the main sunfl ower diseases is the white mold Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. The oxalic acid (OA), which is one of the main pathogenicity factors of this fungus, beside the direct toxicity on the host, has other functions such as the disruption of the cell wall and chelating out the calcium ions. Objectives: Regarding the importance of this disease, it is im...

Effects of angiotensin-II and potassium on phospholipid metabolism in the adrenal zona glomerulosa.

We examined further the ffects of angiotensin-11 and K+ on phospholipid metabolism in the adrenal zona glomerulosa. In adrenal zona glomerulosa cell preparations, physiological and supraphysiological concentrations of angiotensin-I1 (10"2-10-4 M) and K+ (0-16 m ~ ) elicited doseand time-dependent increases in aldosterone production and (32P)phosphate incorporation into chromatographically purif...

Hereditary paraganglioma/pheochromocytoma and inherited succinate dehydrogenase deficiency.

Mitochondrial complex II, or succinate dehydrogenase, is a key enzymatic complex involved in both the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle and oxidative phosphorylation as part of the mitochondrial respiratory chain. Germline succinate dehydrogenase subunit A (SDHA) mutations have been reported in a few patients with a classical mitochondrial neurodegenerative disease. Mutations in the genes encoding...
